Dates and Apple Milkshake

A tasty and nurtritious milkshake that everyone will enjoy. Kids just love it...

Ingredients:

Seedless Dates - 10
Hot milk - 1/2 cup (to soak dates)
Apple - 1
Cold milk - 1.5 cups
Honey - to drizzle (optional)

Preparation:

1. Soak dates in hot milk for 30 minutes.
2. Cut apple into pieces and add it to the soaked dates along with the milk. Blend this to a paste in a mixer. Add cold milk to this paste and blend again.
3. Pour into a glass and drizzle honey on top.

Note that I have not added sugar in this. The sweetness from dates is just enough. Adjust the quantity of honey as per the sweetness of the milkshake.

Cold Coffee with Ice Cream

Cold coffee is my favourite drink for the past many years. I order only this every time I go to a coffee shop. I also make it at home if I have vanilla ice cream in stock. The recipe is very very simple...

Ingredients:

Instant coffee powder - 1 tsp
Warm water - 1 tbsp
Cold milk - 1 cup
Sugar - 1 tsp (I don't add this, as I like the bitterness of the coffee, the sweetness of ice cream is just right)
Vanilla Ice cream

Preparation:

1. Dissolve the coffee powder in warm water. Blend this with milk, sugar and a scoop of ice cream in a mixer.
2. Pour to a glass and add 1-2 scoops of ice cream on top. Sprinkle some coffee powder or chocolate chips as you like.

Strawberry milkshake

Hi All, this is the last post of this month. I am overwhelmed by the 800+  hits on my blog in less than a week's time. So, here is a sweet treat for you...
My daughter is crazy about strawberries. This is her favourite drink and I hope you too would like it.

Ingredients:
Cold milk - 200 ml
Nesquik strawberry flavour milkshake mix - 1 tbsp
Fresh strawberries - 4-5
Sugar - 2 tsp or more
Vanilla icecream or fresh cream - for topping (optional)

Preparation:
1. Add nesquik to the cold milk and shake well in a shaker. Pour into a glass.
2. Make a puree of strawberry and sugar (using a blender/mixer). Add this puree to the glass. It forms reddish pink layer on top of the milk.
3. Top it with vanilla ice cream or fresh cream.

Enjoy !!! Nesquik gives it a very creamy texture and gives a good flavour. Instead of using it, add more berries.
